The Monet brand first appeared in 1937. Its popularity stemmed not only from its unique vintage aesthetic but also from numerous revolutionary patented jewelry structural innovations. Additionally, their proprietary plating technology ensured flawless, smooth metal surfaces, which explains why the plating on Monet's pieces remains remarkably pristine. Before 1955, unscrupulous manufacturers directly copied Monet's designs without regard for material quality, compelling Monet to brand their jewelry. In 1969, General Mills acquired the brand. Under their management, Monet even collaborated with YSL. Since 1984, the company has changed ownership multiple times.
