A sky full of stars - renewal

Original vessels created by ceramic artist Morishita Shingo. The lid was created by woodworker Yasushi Shimizu to fit the container. With this combination, a new "lidded container" was created. This time we will introduce "A Sky Full of Stars." The body of the vessel is made of Gotou clay. How you view this piece, with its pot-shaped design, striking yellow and black dots, and tiny Gogu, is entirely up to you. I used walnut for the lid and oak for the disk-shaped base. It's a style that makes you wonder if it's really a lid, but I put together a shape that suddenly came to me when I saw the other works. Once the disk was fixed in place, I really wanted to put a little angel on it, so I asked Shingo. I asked him to do it, and he answered my unreasonable request to make it as small as possible, and I sat the cute angel doll on it and completed it. With this renewal, we have added a new base for holding the lid upright. The material is ash, and the lid is inserted into the center of the disk to stand it up. When decorating, I'd like to incorporate this base into the scenery as well. So how do you use this? ■Material: Container/Ceramics Lid: Walnut, Oak Base: Ash ■Size: Diameter approx. 50mm, outer diameter approx. 120mm, height approx. 400mm *The lid is finished with natural oil. If moisture is left on the lid, it will stain, so please wipe off the moisture as soon as possible. Also, do not use a dish dryer, dry in direct sunlight, or use a microwave, as these may cause cracks or warping. Also, the lid is not airtight, so it is not suitable as a storage container for items that dislike moisture.
