About the Author
Charles. Kingsley
A famous British children's literature writer in the 19th century, he wrote more than 60 novels and essays in his life, of which "The Water Child" is his representative work. Charles spent most of his childhood in small fishing villages on the western coast of England. He graduated with honors from Cambridge University in 1843, then became a priest and participated in the Christian socialist reform movement many times. In 1873, he was appointed vicar of Westminster Abbey, Britain's most famous cathedral.
