Iris is an elegant flower to look at, but like all things, it has its own meaning and stories in different cultures. The story we find most intriguing is in Greek mythology, Iris is a goddess that delivers messages to the Gods, and she is also the personification of rainbows.
Because of this belief, the Greek has a beautiful tradition of placing irises on the graves of their loved ones, in hopes of summoning the Goddess to escort them to heaven.
