Residing in Taiwan, they work from a charming old apartment in Taipei, diligently creating and producing stamps. With a background in publishing as a magazine and book editor, Chamilgarden now focuses full-time on stamp design. Each season brings new collections of handmade stamps, with published works including volumes 1-8, showcasing over 100 unique stamp designs. Their authored books include "Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Primarily using erasers as their carving medium, each stamp is the result of slow, deliberate cuts into the material. Stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday observations, landscapes and encounters from travels, and cherished interests (such as text, flora, geometric patterns, nature, architecture, etc.). These elements are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing multi-point line work, intersecting planes, minimalist primary and secondary lines, foreign text, and personal symbolic notations to compose the stamp imagery. Chamilgarden enjoys combining stamps and colors, orchestrating solo or collaborative arrangements of various sizes, and utilizing repetition. Many graphic designs also originate from snippets of stamp designs, extended through stamping and combination techniques to create pieces like postcards and washi tapes.
