Material Description: The primary material used extensively in the mixandfun design studio is 14k gold-filled, which involves plating a layer of 1/20 14k gold over a brass base. This material has become quite popular in recent years for being relatively easy to care for, maintaining its color for a longer period, and being more accessible in price compared to solid 14k gold. Alternatively, solid 14k gold means the entire piece is made of 14k gold—with a gold content of approximately 58.5%, the remainder being silver, iron, or copper. For Taiwan's climate, solid 14k gold is even easier to maintain, and its color is more refined. It's also a consideration for those with sensitive skin. Specially alloyed metals are also materials we frequently use. mixandfun carefully selects preferred unplated chains and subjects them to special electroplating, ensuring the color remains durable under normal wear. Wearing Precautions: 1. For all jewelry, it's best to put on accessories after dressing and remove them before changing into loungewear. We do not recommend wearing jewelry while bathing, hot spring soaking, or swimming. 2. For earrings, we advise attaching the included silicone earring backs to minimize the chance of loss. 3. Given Taiwan's warm and humid climate, if jewelry is not worn for an extended period, gently wipe it with a soft cloth before storing it in a sealed bag. 4. For finer chains, make it a habit to fasten the clasp when removing them to reduce the likelihood of tangling. 5. For gold-filled, solid 14k gold, or specially alloyed pieces, signs of wear are natural over time. We appreciate your understanding. 6. A Little Care Tip: If you notice your jewelry has oxidized, don't worry. You can fill a bowl with a little water, add some salt, and a small piece of aluminum foil (kitchen foil). Submerge your solid gold or sterling silver jewelry for about 10 minutes, then remove. It should typically regain its shine. (Material composition may vary slightly between brands.) It's recommended to start with less expensive silver items for this method. 7. You can place solid gold or general alloy jewelry in your palm, take an old toothbrush, dip it in a little toothpaste, and gently brush for about half a minute.
