|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nurtures jade for three years, and jade nurtures a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is gentle and soothing. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's intrinsic energy is pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified within jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI[Si2 O6], often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with presence in blood and muscles. Calcium is a crucial regulator of bodily functions, playing vital roles throughout life, from youth to adulthood and old age. It is an indispensable element for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions. It can prevent cardiovascular diseases and aid in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, it can enhance insulin sensitivity. For those who are overweight, it aids in managing cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Individuals experiencing high stress lose chromium faster than average, making it particularly important for these groups.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed portions excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of dietary nickel is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macro-mineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is necessary for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal nerve and muscle function, complementing calcium's role. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation, which is linked to the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies suggest that individuals who drink hard water, with relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower rates of cardiovascular disease mortality. Therefore, normal blood magnesium levels are associated with a lower risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it an "essential trace element." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% found in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function properly.
Medical research indicates that jadeite possesses significant therapeutic properties. Long-term wear is believed to prevent and even alleviate certain illnesses.
Relieving Chest Tightness: For individuals with weaker constitutions, chest tightness can sometimes occur. Wearing a jadeite pendant is thought to help alleviate this common condition. The pendant is believed to emit energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, providing a lasting effect through continuous massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to possess properties that "clear internal heat, moisten the heart and lungs, nourish hair, benefit the five organs, calm the spirit, promote blood circulation, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the balanced coordination of physiological functions of the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite ornaments, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are absorbed by the body, nourishing the skin and making it appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling and Relief: The naturally cool nature of jadeite offers a soothing and refreshing sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei would reportedly hold jade in her mouth during summer to relieve heat. Since then, jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants have been used to combat the summer heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is that looking at jadeite can provide an inexplicable sense of comfort and healing when feeling down or stressed, as if receiving solace.
