**《Jade Carving Artist》**
Born in 1973 in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County.
Began learning jade carving in Taipei in 1988.
Studied advertising design in vocational high school in 1993, integrating design concepts into his work.
Established his own studio in 1994.
Received an honorable mention in the craft category at the 14th Nanying Art Exhibition in 2000 for his work "Waiting for the Opportunity."
Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in August.
Invited to the Hualien International Arts Festival in 2001 for live carving in the local creation area.
Selected for the "Dream of Craftsmanship" award at the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition in 2002. Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau in January.
Participated in the "Flowers and Trees Carnival" joint jade exhibition at the Luoxi Stone Inkstone Museum in Changhua County in May.
From October to December, was invited by the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Cultural Foundation and Hualien Cultural Affairs Bureau for the "Grand View of Stones" exhibition, touring department stores in northern, central, and southern Taiwan.
Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute in 2003 to exhibit works such as "Lotus Ecological Ambiance" at the Presidential Office's "Taitung Local Crafts Exhibition."
Featured in the National Education Radio's "Arts and Culture Corridor - Xie Zhong-ren Jade Carving Exhibition" from March to June 2004.
Received an honorable mention for "Dream of Craftsmanship" at the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition.
Held a solo exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from October 2004 to January 2005.
Invited by the National Taiwan Museum in 2005 to exhibit his local carving work "Taiwanese Snacks - Braised Pork Rice."
From June to September, participated in the "Sherlock Holmes: 100 Faces Exhibition" in exchange with the National Museum of the Czech Republic.
Established the brand "Yu Ning Shi" and opened counters in department stores.
Participated in the "Craftsmanship Masters" exhibition at Pacific Sogo Department Store in mid-December.
Invited in 2007 to participate in the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute's exhibition "Craftsmanship at Your Fingertips - Application of Daily Crafts" at the Executive Yuan Art Gallery.
His work "Japanese-style Sushi" was selected for the "Taiwan Craft Competition" at the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute in 2008.
In 2012, his works "Half Thought" (Traditional Craftsmanship category) and "Lin Jing Mountain Water" (Craftsmanship category) were selected for the "Taiwan Craft Competition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center, and the 21st Tainan City "Nanying Award" respectively.
Invited to exhibit in the Taiwanese Jade Master Zone at the "Cross-Strait Jade Carving Exchange Gathering of Elites" exhibition at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 2013.
Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center in 2016 to exhibit three works – "Japanese-style Sushi," "Handmade Small Mochi," and "Leaping Moment" – at the Presidential Office Art Gallery's "Gathering Around the Hearth - Sustainable Craft Exhibition."
His work "Spring Scenery of Withered Lotus" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan City Taoyuan Fine Arts Exhibition in 2017.
Held his solo exhibition "Xie Zhong-ren Jade Carving 30 Years - Continuation of Culture" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 2018.
Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center in 2019 (January-June) to exhibit his work "Auspicious Dragon Presents Auspiciousness" at the Presidential Office Art Gallery's "Feast · Happiness" exhibition.
Participated in the "Pleasant Heart, Brilliant Art - Boutique Exhibition of the Taiwan Craft Development Association" in 2020, jointly held at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16) and the Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center (October 6, 2020 - February 28, 2021).
His work "Japanese-style Sushi" was exhibited in the "Creative Regeneration Green Craft" exhibition hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center (October-November 2021).
His work "Handmade Small Mochi" was selected for the 2021 Taiwan Craft Competition and toured various locations, including the Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Xintiandi, and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi's Tainan Ximen and Taichung stores.
