For My yoke is easy [to bear] and My burden is light.” MATTHEW 11:28-30 AMP Thank the Lord, in prayer I saw Jesus' gentle hand reaching out, inviting us. Jesus speaks to us with a firm yet gentle tone: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) We often read this passage as if it were directed at those who do not yet know Jesus, but God, through the AMP version of the English Bible, has revealed more to me. Those who bear burdens may not find true peace due to religious rules and rituals; they too can come to Jesus and find rest through salvation that "refreshes" our souls. Matthew 11:29-30 tells us that we should take up Jesus’ yoke, learn from Him and follow him as His disciple, embracing His gentleness and humility. By doing so, we will find true rest and receive "renewal, blessed quiet." For Jesus walks with us, and His yoke is easy and "light" to bear. No matter what situation you are in right now, let us accept this invitation together, continue to focus on God's promises (the covenant of the rainbow), and surrender our hearts, our hands, and our lives once again to the Lord Jesus.
