Artist: Kwood
https://images2.imgbox.com/66/c6/wVo3QFy7_o.jpeg
Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood graduated with a background in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art infused warm, profound vitality into ancient alleyways. These objects, like fragments of time, carry the traces of history and the contours of the future, seeking a subtle balance between opposition and harmony. This transforms into delicate works that tightly connect the vision of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once crushed into powder for its fragrance, is solemnly placed in the most auspicious location in Japanese homes, symbolizing vitality and light.
Agarwood is sourced directly from its origin, pure and flawless, untouched by artificial techniques such as boiling glue, drawing lines, or using artificial scents. It is presented in its most original form, using ancient scent-extraction techniques, where the outer layer of deadwood is meticulously hand-peeled to reveal the true soul of the agarwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also allows tradition and modern craftsmanship to subtly intertwine at your fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and the senses. Its rich fragrance is like the condensation of time, gently drawing together past memories and future aspirations, allowing them to meet and resonate within the aroma, continuing endlessly, distant, and profound.
