This is a plump, rounded lidded vessel crafted from fine-grained white clay that makes the glaze colors truly shine. A soft, natural-toned matte glaze is applied all over, with colorful glazes used to create patterns reminiscent of spring. To achieve a more refined and subdued atmosphere than other "Haruiro Sansai" (Spring Colors Trio) pieces, the use of colored glazes has been kept minimal. As the same clay and glazes used for tableware are employed, it can be used as a trinket box, a confectionary dish, or even for serving food. When used as a trinket box, it's perfect for storing sewing threads and buttons, leftover ribbons, or accessories like brooches and rings. As a confectionary dish, you can fill it with your favorite hard candies, individually wrapped baked goods, or chocolates. For serving food, it can be used to elegantly present small appetizers such as simmered vegetables or Japanese side dishes. You can enjoy it in various ways. The creation process involves preparing the clay, shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, all done by hand in my home studio equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. Its plump, rounded form, soft texture, and satisfying weight convey the essence of pottery. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, offering the charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the same as pictured. To minimize scratching your table, the base will be sanded smooth before delivery. I create a variety of pottery, exploring different glazes and clays to find the best combinations, resulting in diverse colors and shapes. Therefore, I generally apply a waterproofing treatment to all pottery before it is sent to you. Pottery that has undergone waterproofing treatment does not require a preliminary "me-dohome" (water-soaking) process at home. After receiving it, a light wash is all that's needed before use. Items already treated will be shipped within 3 days.
