Vintage Singer 128K mechanical sewing machine

Vintage Singer 128K mechanical sewing machine with acanthus leaf decals and grapevine faceplate. Isaac Merritt Singer invented the world's first practical sewing machine in 1850 in the United States. Since then, the name Singer has been synonomous with sewing, and the fact that 100+ year old sewing machines are still used today, is testimony to their quality. The serial number of this machine is EJ604642 dating the year of production to the year 1954. This machine is currently not in working order as the drive shaft does not appear to connect to the flywheel. The outside of the metal body, however, is in good condition with some small wear due to usage and possible oxidation due to aging. The wooden base and case have some surface marks due to usage. All wooden parts have recently been waxed with linseed oil. There is an original small tool and spare parts box inside the compartment as well as a manual in Dutch.
