Rustic and Cozy Soup Cup with White Matte Glaze

Crafted with a coarse red clay, this soup cup allows you to enjoy the rustic texture and heartwarming warmth unique to earthenware. The white matte glaze offers a warm hue and finish with a subtle hint of yellow and red. We've combined these two elements to create this soup cup. Its generously sized form can comfortably hold hearty, chunky soups. The off-white color allows the natural hues of clear soups like consommé to shine through. Of course, its earthenware warmth also pairs beautifully with thick, creamy potage. We truly hope you'll cherish it as an item for cozy, warm, and delicious moments. All stages of production, from clay preparation and shaping to bisquing, glazing, and firing, are done entirely by hand using a small electric kiln and potter's wheel in my home studio. The plump, rounded shape, the rustic texture, and the slight heft convey the distinct character of earthenware. While mass production isn't possible, each piece has its own unique expression, offering the charm of handmade artistry. The item you receive will be the same as pictured. There are currently 4 pieces in stock. As each cup has subtle variations in size and form, photographs of all four are provided at the end of the product images. While supplies last, you may select your preferred piece. Please let us know your choice at the time of purchase. The base of each cup is sanded to minimize any potential scratching on your table surfaces. I continually explore various clay bodies and glazes, seeking the best combinations to create diverse ceramics in both color and form. No two pieces are ever exactly alike; though similar, each is a one-of-a-kind creation. It would bring me great joy if you find a piece that speaks to you. I hope you'll enjoy the heartwarming atmosphere woven by the earthenware clay and glaze as a touch of daily color. ーーーーー *Dimensions and Weight* 1 Diameter 11.3cm Height 6.7cm Base Diameter 5.7cm Weight 315g 2 Diameter 11.1cm Height 6.7cm Base Diameter 5.7cm Weight 328g 3 Diameter 11.2cm Height 6.5cm Base Diameter 5.9cm Weight 311g 4 Diameter 10.9cm Height 6.5cm Base Diameter 5.6cm Weight 312g ーーーーー *Important Notes for Purchase and Use* - Due to the porous nature of earthenware, it may absorb liquids, potentially leading to staining in crazed areas or slight seepage. To prevent this, all our ceramic items undergo a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for a preliminary soaking (mezoma). This treatment requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you do not wish for the waterproofing treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - The glaze's color characteristics mean it may appear whiter under natural morning light or white artificial light, and exhibit more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned lamps. - We strive to ensure product images accurately represent the actual item through photography and editing. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and ambient lighting conditions. Please be aware of this in advance. - As this item is also listed on other platforms, in the event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase process first. We appreciate your understanding. - While microwave (for gentle warming) and dishwasher use is possible, the vibrations from microwaves and high-pressure hot water jets can accelerate wear. We recommend using these appliances sparingly. - Please refrain from using the item in an oven or over an open flame. - After use, to prevent stains and mold, please wash thoroughly, ensure it is completely dry, and then store it in your cupboard or designated storage.
