When it comes to monogram patterns, LV is undoubtedly the most widely recognized. However, CELINE's monogram actually predates LV's!
CELINE's monogram dates back to the 1870s. It was later discontinued for a long period and has only recently been revived by the new creative director.
But in the fashion world, who came first is not that important. Look at LV, which emerged later but has dominated the monogram scene for so many years.
Although CELINE's monogram is considered a senior, it has only gained widespread recognition in recent years with its revived designs...
In essence, every brand has its own monogram pattern, just like their logos. It all comes down to which one you prefer.
Before its revival, Celine's monogram was a breath of fresh air in the vintage market, with its classic pattern, diverse bag styles, and affordable prices. Sadly, those days are gone.
After the new collection was released, the prices of virtually all monogram bags have been steadily increasing, with some styles closely resembling the new designs seeing a sharp surge.
Many people who had never bought vintage items before have also entered the vintage world because of the monogram. A comparison will show you why "new is not as good as old."
Celine's monogram truly embodies the saying "new is not as good as old." The level of detail in the pattern alone shows a clear difference.
The monogram pattern in the new designs has been enlarged, but the edges are noticeably blurred (perhaps by design!).
With a magnifying glass, you won't find any blurred edges on the old monogram. Of course, this is also due to the different eras and design needs.
In recent years, brands have tended to enlarge their patterns, making them more prominent. It's either a big LOGO or a big brand name.
Now that Celine is part of the LV group, the new designs we see have a unified and group-like feel.
There's a "urban legend" that everyone who buys vintage bags must have a Celine in their collection because of its wide variety of vintage styles, making it less likely to clash with others.
(Personally, I feel that new designs simply cannot compete with vintage styles in terms of craftsmanship and material quality. You can easily find complaints online about the poor quality of new bags from major brands...)
The owner is actually a fan of solid colors. All the bags I keep for myself are in solid colors without patterns, including my clothes.
I don't even wear stripes or geometric patterns; everything is solid color. That's why I've always wanted a patterned bag for myself to add a touch of flair to my otherwise monochrome outfits.
However, no patterned bag had ever made me think, "I absolutely must have this."
Until I saw this Celine monogram mini Boston bag in person! I was initially helping a customer with an order, and I was indifferent at the time.
But upon receiving the actual item, I found it incredibly cute and practical! It was so adorable that I immediately had to search for another one to keep for myself (why didn't I notice it before!?).
Boston bags come in many sizes, and the cutest are definitely the mini 18cm and nano 14cm! This listing is for the 18CM mini size.
Celine has already reissued a new monogram version of the Boston bag (with the enlarged Arc de Triomphe pattern).
Therefore, this vintage predecessor has been continuously increasing in price, with the mini size seeing the fastest and most significant rise.
Similar to the horsebit buckle, the increase has been like riding a rocket into space. Seeing it in person, you'll understand that the 18cm mini size is both cute and practical!
Its capacity is sufficient for basic essentials and more. This was a pleasant surprise; it looks small and cute, like a "miniature useless bag," but it's surprisingly functional, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with it instantly! It can hold a phone (even a large one), a medium-short wallet, keys, a cardholder, wet and dry tissues, and hand sanitizer, with still some room to spare. It's truly a small but not useless, practical representative. The Boston bag shape is definitely the most spacious among small bag sizes (I've included extra photos showing the actual capacity with items inside).
Has anyone noticed a small detail (which you'll likely appreciate in actual use)?
The zipper on the Celine Boston bag can be pulled down to both sides of the bag in a "冖" shape, making it very convenient to access your belongings.
Many Boston bags from other brands have zippers that only open the top of the bag in a "一" shape.
For medium or large sizes, this detail doesn't make much difference because the opening is still large even if the zipper doesn't reach the sides.
However, for mini sizes, this small detail is crucial. When the zipper can be pulled to both sides, the bag opening widens, making it easier to retrieve items. Otherwise, with only the top opening, the bag opening will be very narrow. This detail on the Celine bag is truly excellent!
Another reason I love it is that the monogram surface has a coating, giving it light water-repellent properties and good stain resistance!
For light rain (heavy rain is another story... stay indoors during heavy rain and don't take your bag out!), or accidental splashes, just wipe it immediately with a cloth!
After returning home, place it in a well-ventilated area for a few days to let it dry completely. You don't have to worry about being rough with the monogram leather (but don't be too violent!).
For everyday use or for those who tend to be a bit rough, a monogram bag is a good choice because it's truly convenient. The color and monogram pattern can be paired with any season!
In winter, it pairs well with long sweaters/coats, creating a cute visual contrast in size. In spring and summer, it's casual and convenient with tank tops, jeans, or dresses!
The original shoulder strap has deteriorated and is no longer usable. I have specially replaced it with a new shoulder strap that perfectly matches the leather trim of the bag, and it is also adjustable in length.
It can be used as a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag (additional holes can be made if needed), but I think the most stylish way to carry it is by hand.
Its small size is incredibly cute and lightweight, so you can carry it all day without any burden. It's perfect for shopping, dining, and taking influencer-style photos – small and eye-catching!
The mini Boston has become my current favorite (I love it so much that I've kept more than one for myself!). When I don't know which bag to use, I just grab this one!
It goes with everything! Especially in autumn and winter, when clothes are thicker, like chunky sweaters, wool coats, or long jackets.
If you also carry a large bag, you might look visually bulky (the owner is petite... carrying a large bag in winter can make you look fat and bloated).
When wearing thick clothes, switching to a lighter bag creates a visual size difference, making you appear less bulky!

⚐⚑˒˒ The bag is in excellent condition, a beautiful "like new" grade, super clean! It's the best and most beautiful condition I've ever sold for this model!
I've intentionally taken photos comparing the original color with the darker, beeswax-like patina. The transformation of color... that's what makes vegetable-tanned leather so fascinating.
The original natural beige gradually darkens over time and with use, becoming a beeswax color, deepening with each use, giving it a vintage feel.
Incidentally, many of the newly reproduced vintage bags are intentionally dyed to this beeswax brown color, but the actual shades are vastly different.
This brown is a natural patina developed over time, a result of weathering the years! A naturally transformed brown color feels warm.
Upon close inspection, you'll see an even depth of color and pores (don't worry!). And the color will continue to change slowly based on your usage habits.
Even if you and a friend use the same bag, the subtle color tones will never be exactly the same; it will be your unique color.
Dyed brown, on the other hand, is completely different. That color is directly achieved with chemicals, not a natural "change" over time...
Therefore, modern vintage-style bags will not change color further with your use or the passage of time. Everyone who buys and uses them will have the same brown.
Apologies for going off-topic... This particular bag is in its original natural beige and is extremely clean. The monogram coating on the surface is clean and intact, with no whitening, discoloration, or aging.
The monogram surface has no scratches or scuffs. The leather edges and corners are in their original color, so clean that even the edges show no marks.
There are only one or two extremely minor marks on the corners, located at the bottom, so they are almost invisible when worn.
The entire bag is intact with no missing leather. The stitching on the handle is firm, and the leather connecting to the shoulder strap shows minimal signs of use,
as the strap buckle inevitably causes some friction. However, the rest of the handle is clean and in its original color, with no obvious stains or scratches.
The edge paint on the handle is intact, and the leather has a beautiful natural sheen. The interior is clean with no aging or peeling. The brand leather tag is complete.
The leather on both sides of the bag opening is in its original natural beige. The zipper opens to both sides, making it convenient to put in and take out items (reiterating the importance of this small detail!).
The metal hardware connecting the bag body and the handle is generally golden yellow, with signs of use but no significant oxidation, plating loss, or scratches.
The zipper pull, plated with real K gold, features the CELINE Arc de Triomphe engraving, is very golden, and shows no obvious oxidation, discoloration, or plating loss.
When I acquired it, the original shoulder strap was missing, so I have specially added a replacement strap of a similar color that is also adjustable in length (the original was not adjustable).
Overall, the bag is exceptionally well-preserved, with only extremely minor signs of use. It's truly rare to find such a clean condition!
While the price may not be very approachable, the condition is simply too beautiful. The condition and price of vintage items are always directly proportional.
The mini Boston has become increasingly expensive due to the popularity of vintage styles and the reissue of new versions.
The condition of most bags on the market is worse than this one. Such a clean state is extremely rare; once sold, it will be hard to find another as beautiful!
❍ The photos were taken by the owner in natural light, and the lighting may vary depending on the time of day, so color differences are possible.
Additionally, I have more detailed photos and on-body references, but I cannot upload them here. Please message me to request them! Due to the special nature of pre-owned orders,
all orders are final and cannot be returned or exchanged. Please review the actual item photos carefully before placing an order.

The main reason the owner likes vintage bags is that the materials from older eras are far superior to those in modern new collections.
In the past, most of the production processes for pre-owned items were ✦handmade. There were no mass-production machines, only the warmth of craftsmanship.
Artisan skills are definitely more delicate than machines, just as everyone appreciates products handcrafted by artisans!
However, today, the vast majority of processes are done by machines with minimal human assembly, losing the former subtlety.
I think the simplest and most direct way to see this is to compare the new monogram versions of recent years with the authentic old-era monograms.
The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is completely different. If you love monograms, you should look for pre-owned items! Truly!
In terms of style, older eras were more ✦simple, timeless, and enduring. Nowadays, many new designs are actually revivals of older styles.
However, new designs are priced higher than old ones. New designs are usually based on older models, with added details or design changes.
The final product always ends up being more complex (or strange...) than the old ones. I believe as we grow older, we all understand one thing:
the simpler, the more enduring! As we age, our clothing choices also return to basic styles because the more basic, the more versatile.
The quality of materials in older models is also better than in new ones. If you understand ✦leather, you'll see it. Most materials in new collections are inferior to older ones.
The main reason is that the cost of high-quality materials is too high now, and their availability is not as abundant as before. Earth's resources are dwindling...
Furthermore, brands back then did not have the "ubiquitous" presence of branches everywhere as they do now. Most customers had a certain income and certain expectations for the finished product.
There was no "fast fashion culture" back then; a bag was expected to be used for many years.
The difference between new and old eras is clearly visible in the ✦hardware. Many new bags' hardware oxidizes and discolors after one or two years of use,
but old models usually don't. Besides the high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship, hardware from earlier eras was plated with real K gold!
It's worth mentioning that Chanel Vintage is expensive for a reason; many of its clasps and chains contain real gold, certified by gold appraisers!
So, many vintage bags from as early as the 60s and 70s, if properly preserved, can still shine brightly today.
As for the new collections available now, from what I know, no brand uses K gold in its hardware anymore, so it oxidizes easily.
Many people say that buying vintage bags is a form of alternative investment because they rarely depreciate and only increase in value.
This is because good-condition pre-owned bags are becoming increasingly rare in the market; one disappears, and another is gone. Remember, each of them is a discontinued item.
The number of existing ones in the world is limited, so they will only become fewer, more expensive, and harder to find.
Also, many brands adjust their prices periodically, and each adjustment drives up the prices in the vintage market.
Or, if a brand releases a "reissue," the vintage reference or similar styles will see a price surge!
In addition, with the recent popularity of vintage items among Japanese and Korean celebrities, once a particular style is worn by a celebrity, its price skyrockets. It truly skyrockets because, for a period, many people will frantically search for that style or a similar alternative, and the prices of those few styles will increase exponentially...
So, vintage is truly "buy early, enjoy longer; buy late, pay more" (this is not an advertisement slogan... it's the truth in the vintage world...).
This is my personal experience; I regret not entering the market earlier for many series. I can't find them anymore, and even if I do, they come with an exorbitant price tag...
But the problem is, even if you know it's an exorbitant price, you're forced to pay it because waiting will only mean a higher price later (unless the condition is poor).
I am often asked about bag maintenance (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I will include small notes with details inside the bag, so don't worry.
My personal habit is to take them out for maintenance when I organize my closet during seasonal changes (so each seasonal change is a big project...|||).
Actually, vintage bags are not that troublesome. When you first start, you just need to get used to regular maintenance and cherishing your bag. Once it becomes a habit, it's not difficult.
Vintage bags are made of excellent materials. As long as you don't use them roughly and preserve them properly, they can last for another ten years and be passed down to your daughter!
Every vintage bag is one I collected because I liked it, so I hope you will like it too and be able to preserve it ☪︎ *.。
