DOU, belonging to the genus Astrophytum in the cactus family, is a small globular cactus native to Mexico and the southern United States. It thrives in sunny, dry environments with significant temperature differences, and is tolerant of drought and partial shade. It lacks the sharp spines of other cacti; instead, its areoles are covered in soft, white, star-shaped fuzz. Many enthusiasts are drawn to its petite size and endearing form, making it an irresistible choice. 【Care Instructions】 DOU are drought-tolerant and prefer dry growing conditions. Follow the principle of "water sparingly but thoroughly." Water sufficiently during the growing season, ensuring no waterlogging in the pot. Keep the soil dry during winter and gradually resume normal watering once temperatures rise. DOU are summer-growing plants that require plenty of sunlight. However, provide partial shade during intense summer sun to prevent sunburn. Avoid splashing soil onto the plant when watering. Less sunlight means less watering to prevent etiolation, which can affect its appearance. When winter temperatures drop below 7°C (45°F), provide insulation by moving your star cactus indoors. 📝 Key Points: Provide ample sunlight, water only when dry, and water thoroughly when you do. Water about once every 2-3 weeks in summer and once a month in winter.
