These are earrings/piercings made with freshwater pearls and thread. The thread motifs are created using the traditional Paraguayan embroidery technique called Ñandutí. The Ñandutí portions are stiffened with adhesive, giving them a delicate appearance yet a surprisingly firm texture. Ñandutí accessories allow you to appreciate the texture of the thread, its delicate nature, vibrant colors, and the diverse patterns woven by the threads. We have intricately woven them with a light, lace-like pattern where freshwater pearls are arranged. By using black thread, the freshwater pearls stand out, and thanks to the monochrome color scheme, these pearl earrings exude a mature elegance without being overly sweet. Ñandutí, in the local Guaraní language, means "spider web." As the name suggests, it is a delicate handicraft created with thread. A base thread is stretched, and then another thread is woven or knotted onto it to create patterns. The embroidery is stiffened with adhesive, and once the embroidered sections are detached from the fabric, Ñandutí is complete. It has a firm texture to the touch, maintaining its shape with moderate stiffness while also retaining the softness of the thread's material.
