By eradicating the 108 afflictions, the mind and body can achieve a state of tranquility. Wearing prayer beads on the hand serves as a constant reminder to emulate the compassion of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, maintaining a calm, unhurried, and spacious mindset in any environment. In Tibetan, prayer beads are called "Changwa," meaning "to remember," "to think of," or "to recall," and also imply continuity.
