NARUWAN: 3952 Old Mountain Goat - Our Beautiful Homeland, Grand and Elegant Writing Model. Italian briarwood is typically used in pipe making. Old Mountain Goat specifically selects the burl portion of the briarwood, offering a luster akin to high-end car interior wood trim. However, briarwood naturally has unavoidable "black spots" due to its origin from burl wood, meaning each piece will have them to varying degrees. The patterns derived from the burl are intricate and exquisite. Through numerous layers of spraying, sanding, and polishing, it achieves a particularly substantial hand-feel. Under the high-definition, high-gloss transparent lacquer, the texture is further enhanced. The high-definition, high-gloss process makes it easy to maintain, resistant to ink stains or hand sweat, and makes the wood grain appear more three-dimensional. Most pens on the market are finished with simple polishing or waxing of the raw wood. Such meticulous processing is exceptionally rare (briarwood features unique black spots and natural grain, premium product shipped randomly). This fountain pen is complemented by gunmetal grey electroplated clips and metal accents. It features a barrel-shaped, rotating, airtight cap design, paired with a uniquely designed, custom-molded clip that incorporates a special spring mechanism, making it a delight to handle and cherish.
This pen model is available with two nib options: a spring steel tip (Queyue knife) and a spring steel calligraphy tip, both meticulously ground and modified from a German JoWo #6 (WIN #12) flexible steel nib.
The Queyue knife is crafted from a German JoWo #6 (WIN #12) flexible steel nib (F-point), which is then meticulously hand-ground and adjusted by Old Mountain Goat artisans to create a blade-like tip. This allows for subtle variations in line width, offering a more elastic writing feel than typical ground nibs. It possesses a unique tactile sensation, is durable under pressure, and is easy to master.
The spring steel calligraphy tip is made from a German JoWo #6 (WIN #12) flexible steel nib (EF-point), then meticulously hand-crafted and adjusted by Old Mountain Goat artisans to produce a calligraphy tip capable of creating varying line widths. It imparts a unique brushstroke aesthetic, offers a distinctive writing feel, is durable under pressure, and is easy to master. It serves as an ideal entry-level option for beginners exploring calligraphy nibs.

Hand-adjusted Calligraphy Nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip the nib in ink and allow it to settle for a period before using a converter.
2. If the converter experiences ink skipping, check the angle of your grip. Ensure both iridium dots are simultaneously contacting the paper; avoid writing on one side. If skipping persists, check if paper fibers or debris are stuck in the nib slit.
3. Remove the converter and try filling the pen directly with ink using the filling mechanism.
4. Clean the nib with water. If the iridium dots are unevenly contacting the paper or if excessive pressure is applied, it can lead to misalignment of the iridium dots, causing them to scratch the paper and accumulate debris in the slit.
5. The calligraphy tip is adjusted from an EF nib to create an arched tip. Line variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by adjusting the angle of your grip, utilizing the curvature of the nib's tip to create varying widths. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area between the nib and paper, resulting in finer lines. The more angled your grip, the greater the contact area, producing broader strokes. The ability to write both broadly and finely depends on your practice and skill.
In support of environmental protection, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If a gift bag is required, please specify this in the order notes after placing your order. Thank you.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When storing, do not keep the nib facing downwards for extended periods.
Gentle Reminder: When writing, avoid pressing down excessively or writing with a bias to the left or right (for right-handed users, it is recommended to keep the nib pointing towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This prevents potential misalignment of the iridium dots, which can cause scratching and ink skipping. The nib should be regularly rinsed with clean water to prevent ink blockage and maintain writing quality.
Gentle Reminder: The spring steel tip has a certain tolerance for writing pressure. Begin writing with a light touch and gradually increase pressure to test the nib's flexibility. When writing, only apply downward force to slightly spread the nib. For horizontal strokes, use a light touch. Avoid applying pressure haphazardly or excessively, as this may cause damage or misalignment of the nib.
Gentle Reminder: The spring steel calligraphy tip also has a certain tolerance for writing pressure. Begin writing with a light touch and gradually increase pressure to test the nib's flexibility. Avoid applying pressure haphazardly or excessively, as this may cause damage or misalignment of the nib.
