DAPENG BAY: 3952 Old Goat - Named after a renowned Taiwanese landmark, this is a special edition designed for grand writing. The pen barrel is made from carefully selected Yellow Rosewood, naturally turned and finished with a special technique for a dazzling, high-definition, high-gloss appearance. This high-definition, high-gloss process involves repeatedly applying and polishing transparent lacquer until the natural pores in the wood grain are completely filled. This process requires dozens of lacquer applications. The high-definition, high-gloss finish results in a smoother surface, a more tactile writing experience, and makes the exquisite wood grain appear more three-dimensional and distinct. It also makes the surface easier to maintain, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink stains. However, this process incurs higher costs. Both the high-definition, high-gloss and standard finishes have their own unique charm, catering to different tastes. Old Goat Fountain Pens sincerely offers this to you, and thanks you for your support. The high-definition, high-gloss finish resembles the luster of wood trim in a luxury car interior, with a mirror-like sheen and a particularly substantial feel. Most pens on the market are simply polished or waxed after turning; such meticulous processing is extremely rare. (Natural grain, high-quality wood will be shipped randomly.) The pen is accessorized with original brass components plated in gunmetal grey, featuring a screw-on airtight cap and a specially designed flexible clip.
This pen is offered with various calligraphy nibs for enthusiasts to choose from: Rose Gold/Two-tone Calligraphy Steel Nib, and Standard Calligraphy Titanium Nib.
The Rose Gold/Two-tone Calligraphy Steel Nib is a straight German Bock #250 (#6) rose gold/two-tone steel nib, expertly hand-ground by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing lines with distinct thick and thin variations, reminiscent of a brush pen. It offers a responsive writing feel, allowing for Chinese characters with greater variation in stroke width, expressing your unique taste.
The Standard Calligraphy Titanium Nib is a straight German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium nib, hand-crafted and adjusted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib that captures the essence of a brush pen with its varying line widths. It provides a different tactile sensation, offering more flexibility than a steel calligraphy nib and a more responsive writing experience, capable of expressing richer variations in stroke thickness.

Hand-adjusted Calligraphy Nibs:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip the nib in ink and allow it to break in for a period before using a converter.
2. If using a converter results in skipping, check your grip angle. Both iridium points should land on the paper simultaneously; avoid writing with only one side. If skipping persists, check the nib for paper fibers or debris.
3. Remove the converter and try filling the pen by dipping the nib directly into the ink.
4. Clean the nib. If one iridium point is writing higher than the other, or if excessive pressure is applied, it can cause misalignment of the iridium points, leading to scratching and paper debris accumulation in the nib slit.
5. Calligraphy nibs are EF nibs adjusted to have a curvature. The variation in line width is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of your grip, utilizing the nib's arc to create varying thickness. Holding the pen more upright results in less contact area with the paper, producing finer lines. The more angled your grip, the greater the contact area, producing thicker lines. The ability to write both thick and thin lines depends on your proficiency and skill.
In support of environmental protection, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If you require one for gifting, please specify this in the remarks section after placing your order. Thank you.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When not in use, do not store the pen with the nib facing downwards for extended periods.
Warm Reminder: When writing, avoid pressing down hard or writing with only one side of the nib (for right-handed users, the nib should ideally point towards the 10 or 11 o'clock direction). This prevents accidental misalignment of the iridium points, which can cause scratching and ink skipping. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink clogging and ensure optimal writing performance.
