Sha Kun Yu Huo・Enamel Brooch - Pink

This year, we present "City Greetings," a theme inspired by the Taiwan Creative Industries Expo held in Tainan. It's a warm salute to Kaohsiung, where we reside, and neighboring Tainan, much like friendly neighbors exchanging pleasantries. To celebrate Tainan's 400th anniversary, we've specially designed the "Sha Kun Yu Fire" enamel brooch. Legend has it that a great carp from the heavens, after accidentally consuming a celestial peach, was banished to the mortal realm and settled in the waters around Tainan. "Kun" refers to a great fish in ancient times, and the Tainan coastline, when viewed from afar, resembles a massive fish with its back exposed, floating on the sea. "Sha Kun Yu Fire," one of the eight classic sights of Taiwan during the Qing Dynasty, describes the interplay of the sea's lights and the night sky's stars, painting a picture of a leisurely and prosperous life. Following this vivid historical narrative, we've transformed it into a creation, carrying the imagination of this great fish since the Age of Discovery. This exquisite brooch serves as a blessing for Tainan's 400th anniversary and a wish for Tainan to sail further and wider into the future! We've released two brooch colorways this time, reflecting the Dutch orange hue and the pink shade that embodies our hopes for Tainan's future, looking back at history while anticipating what's to come. For the packaging, we chose two sheets of our favorite Matisse paper, experimenting with a contrast against hot foil stamping.
