Thank you. *Echinopsis chamaecereus*, also known as the Peanut Cactus, is a cultivar of *Echinopsis eyriesii*, with common names including "Ruyi Jade," "Grass Ball," and "Short-haired Ball." Native to South America, its globose stem can reach over ten centimeters, featuring more than ten distinct longitudinal ribs adorned with spines. Short-haired cacti typically bloom at night, with flowers possessing a long, trumpet-like tube at their base, extending up to twenty centimeters. The blooms are exceptionally beautiful, closely resembling those of the Queen of the Night. The primary growing season for the Peanut Cactus is summer, which is also its peak blooming period. The flowers do not last long, opening around 6-7 PM and wilting by noon the following day. The flowers are relatively large, elegantly white, and emit a pleasant, subtle fragrance—a rarity among other Echinopsis species. Its proud, upright posture gives it a distinctive presence, akin to a crane among sparrows, which is likely why it's known as the "Queen of the Night" in Western regions. If the apex of a short-haired cactus appears greenish, it indicates insufficient light during cultivation. In such cases, relocating it to a sunnier spot is advisable, as prolonged lack of light can lead to etiolation and deform the plant. The short-haired cactus is remarkably resilient. With controlled watering and indoor placement during winter, it generally thrives. The stems readily produce offsets, and a detached offset placed on soil can easily root and grow. 【Habits】 The short-haired cactus thrives in warm, sunny environments. It is drought-tolerant but not cold-hardy. It requires shade in summer and ample sunlight in winter. The ideal temperature range is 18-30°C. 【Watering】 Avoid watering immediately after transplanting. Mist the plant 2-3 times daily for the first half month, then water sparingly. After new roots have formed in about a month, gradually increase the watering amount. Adhere to the principle of "water when dry, moisten thoroughly." Water only when the surface of the soil has dried out, and ensure the amount is appropriate. Crucially, prevent water from accumulating in the pot. 【Fertilizing】 During the growing season, fertilize once a month with a succulent nutrient solution.
