Compared to the standard version, this special calligraphy titanium tip offers even greater elasticity, allowing for richer expressiveness. Hand-adjusted Calligraphy Nibs: 1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip the nib in ink and break it in for a period before using a converter. 2. If you experience skipping with a converter, check your grip angle. Ensure both iridium dots are simultaneously contacting the paper; avoid writing with one side down. If skipping persists, check if paper fibers or debris are stuck in the nib. 3. Remove the converter and try priming the ink flow by gravity. 4. Rinse the nib. If one iridium dot is consistently lower than the other or if excessive pressure is applied, it can lead to misalignment of the iridium dots, creating a height difference that scratches the paper and causes paper debris to accumulate in the slit. 5. Calligraphy nibs are adjusted from EF nibs to have a curved tip. Line variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by adjusting the writing angle, utilizing the nib's front curve to create width. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area with the paper, resulting in thinner lines. The more the pen is tilted, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines. Its flexibility is softer and more elastic than a standard titanium nib, but it is less controllable. The soft and elastic nature of the special nib can tempt users to press down, and if the user's technique is not refined, it can lead to temporary separation between the nib and the feed, disrupting ink flow and causing skipping. If the user's nib angle is off, coupled with applying pressure, it can twist the ink channel, leading to poor ink supply. Therefore, this model is softer, more elastic, and less forgiving; it is recommended to first gain proficiency with steel nibs or standard titanium nibs before advancing to the special calligraphy titanium tip.
