The natural grains and colors of the shell pieces are preserved. After manual polishing, they are applied to a brass tube and coated with a thick layer of transparent lacquer. The pen is accented with original brass fittings, finished with a grey chrome plating, featuring a twist-action, airtight cap and a specially designed elastic clip. The Standard Calligraphy Titanium Tip utilizes a German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium nib, handcrafted and adjusted by Laoshanyao artisans to produce a calligraphy nib that writes with the expressive line variation reminiscent of a brush pen, offering a unique tactile experience and superior flexibility compared to regular steel nibs. The Special Calligraphy Titanium Tip (ground and adjusted from an EF nib) is a custom nib specially requested from the German manufacturer, model #250 (#6). It is then handcrafted and adjusted by Laoshanyao artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing expressive line variation, achieving a unique brush-like quality. It offers even greater flexibility than the standard calligraphy titanium nib, allowing for richer strokes. The nib is engraved with the 3952 Yushan distinctive logo, making it a treasured collectible. If the user's grip angle is off and pressure is applied, it can distort the ink channel, hindering ink flow. Therefore, this model is more yielding and challenging to control. It is recommended to first gain proficiency with steel nibs or standard titanium nibs before advancing to the special calligraphy nib.
