The underside of its wings is yellowish-brown, with orange wave-like patterns along the edges. It is commonly found in plains and low-altitude mountainous areas. The larvae feed on *Persicaria chinensis* as their host plant, and adults can be seen year-round. They are often observed nectaring on wildflowers by the roadside and are quite numerous.
