Although CELINE's monogram is considered a "senior" design, it's only in recent years, with the reintroduction of vintage-inspired patterns, that it has gained widespread recognition. Ultimately, every brand has its own monogram design, much like their logos. It all comes down to which monogram you prefer. CELINE's monogram dates back to the 1870s, but it was discontinued for a long period. It was only revived in recent years with the arrival of a new creative director. Before its revival, Celine's monogram was a subtle gem in the pre-owned market, featuring classic patterns, a variety of bag styles, and affordable prices. Sadly, those days are past. Since the new collection's revival, the prices of virtually all monogram bags have been steadily increasing. Some styles that bear a strong resemblance to the new designs have seen prices skyrocket. Vintage monogram bags offer an incredible array of choices. Beyond the numerous color options, they come in various materials, ensuring there's something to suit everyone's taste! These adorable little pouches in my hand are small drawstring bags made of cloth! The new Celine monogram collection doesn't offer as much variety as the vintage ones. I feel this perfectly illustrates the saying "the old is better than the new." The level of detail in the patterns alone shows a significant difference. The monogram pattern in the new, revived designs has been enlarged, but you can clearly see a blurring effect at the edges (perhaps by design?!). With the older vintage monogram, even under a magnifying glass, you won't find such noticeable blurriness. Even though these are made of cloth and were inexpensive, the craftsmanship is not compromised! These super cute, mini good-luck charms can be carried by hand with a silk scarf tied as a handle, and I've also added a long chain for crossbody wear! This makes this small pouch a very versatile item. It can be worn as a shoulder bag, crossbody, or carried by hand (carrying it by hand is truly adorable)! The added hardware for the chain and handle can be easily removed without damaging the bag, allowing for customization. The best part is that all three are brand new and unused! They are perfect for gifting or for personal use, especially recommended for those who prefer smaller accessories – the look on a petite frame is incredibly charming. ⚐⚑˒˒The bag's condition is overall perfect, with an outstanding appearance! As they are brand new and unused, they come with a handle strap and a silver chain! The pink, light blue, and black versions are all the same size, lightweight, soft, and feature a simple design. The drawstring can be fully opened. The bottom and sides of the bag show virtually no signs of use, with no scratches or scuffs. There are almost no frayed edges on the fabric! The interior is lined with satin, with no issues of unraveling. Both ends of the drawstrings are adorned with two silver metal charms engraved with the Arc de Triomphe logo. The Arc de Triomphe logo is present on all four sides. They are shiny and smooth, with no peeling or wear on the plating! All three are brand new and unused, some even with tags! However, new items are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. Furthermore, new designs are typically based on older models with added or altered elements. Ultimately, the design complexity tends to be greater in newer pieces. As you grow older, you likely understand one thing: simplicity endures! The quality of materials in older items is also superior to newer ones. Anyone knowledgeable about leather can see that the materials used in new items are generally of a lower grade than those in vintage pieces. This is primarily because the cost and availability of high-grade raw materials are very high today, coupled with the fact that brands had exceptionally high standards for finished products back then. The difference between new and old hardware is easily discernible. The hardware on many new items oxidizes and discolors after just a year or two of use. However, vintage hardware typically does not, not only due to superior materials and meticulous craftsmanship but also because hardware from earlier eras was plated with real K-gold! This is why even vintage bags produced in the 60s and 70s still retain their brilliant shine today! Among the new items available now, to my knowledge, no brand uses K-gold for its hardware. Many people consider vintage bags a unique form of investment, as their value rarely depreciates and often appreciates. This is because the number of pre-owned bags in good condition on the market is steadily decreasing – each one lost is gone forever. Consequently, prices only continue to rise. Alternatively, if a brand releases its own revamped version or reissue, the price of that style, or even similar ones, will surge.
