It features a crystal-clear, jade-like natural mother-of-pearl shell, cut into pieces and meticulously reassembled to follow the natural grain as much as possible, creating a special full-shell design for both the cap and barrel. Each piece of shell possesses natural patterns and colors, which are then manually polished and enveloped around a brass tube. A thick layer of transparent lacquer is applied, allowing the seams to be felt but not seen. The natural patterns are breathtakingly beautiful and captivating (natural patterns, high-quality, random shipment). The pen is accented with gunmetal gray electroplated fittings, an airtight cap, and a flexible spring-loaded clip featuring the 3952 brand logo. The nib is a German Bock #180 (#5) small-sized rose gold steel nib, handcrafted and ground by Laoshanyang artisans into a calligraphic nib. The calligraphic nib is an EF nib ground and adjusted to have a curved tip that creates varying line widths not solely by pressure, but by the angle of your grip. Utilizing the nib's curvature allows for line variation. Holding the pen upright, with less contact area between the nib and paper, results in finer lines. Tilting the pen more or applying slight pressure increases the contact area, producing broader lines.
