Necklace with Indian Pacific Beads Mix, Mizoram Carnelian, Granulated Brass, and Round Bohemian Beads

This necklace is crafted by connecting a mix of Indian Pacific beads, Mizoram carnelian, granulated brass, and round Bohemian beads. The milky white and jade-colored beads strung together are a mix of antique beads known as Indian Pacific beads. These beads are believed to have originated as early as the 2nd century BCE, with this particular set unearthed in Indonesia dating back to around the 10th century—over a thousand years old! Each bead possesses a unique character, with distinct colors and shapes, and their beautiful wear adds to their charm. The slightly larger green-blue beads are also Indian Pacific beads. The orange beads are Mizoram carnelian, passed down from the 18th century, originating from the Mizoram state in eastern India. They display a rich variety of color and texture. Given their age, they bear natural signs of wear, contributing to their unique character. (Mizoram Carnelian bead size: 0.75cm length, 0.85cm diameter) The granulated beads are brass beads crafted by the Benin people of Africa. The rectangular, cut brass beads were found incorporated into antique Venetian bead necklaces. The small, round white beads are antique Bohemian beads from the early 20th century. As they are over a hundred years old, they show minor scratches, which only add to their endearing history. Their subtly aged white hue is captivating. The charm near the clasp is also old brass from India. Antique white heart beads have been added to the clasp ring and at the end of the necklace. The small Karen silver beads at the clasp are individually hand-stamped. Each piece is handmade and said to be of very high purity. A shell bead, traditionally used as a clasp on ancient ethnic necklaces, has been incorporated into this necklace's closure.
