Yamdrok Lake is located south of Lhasa in Tibet. In Tibetan, Yamdrok means "the upper pasture's jade lake." It is one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet. The lake's shape is extremely fragmented, resembling a coral reef, and it nurtures a vast array of species. It is also a lake that freezes in winter.
To the west of the lake stands the Sanding Monastery, quietly perched on the mountain peak by the lakeside. It has weathered centuries, with countless monks practicing their devotion there. They guard the lake's legends and beliefs, or perhaps, the lake itself preserves the people of the land.
In winter, people seek refuge in warmer valleys or the south, while snow blankets everything.

This mug is crafted using Shigaraki clay, a material not easily obtained in Taiwan.
Shigaraki clay is sourced from the Shigaraki region in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, a product of ancient Lake Biwa's sedimentary processes.
Shigaraki clay is primarily composed of feldspar, quartz, and smaller amounts of mica, kaolinite, and other minerals. Its grain distribution is relatively coarse, containing more feldspar and quartz particles. Compared to American clays, it has a lower shrinkage rate and can withstand higher temperatures, offering good firing stability. It is widely used in Japan. The Tanuki (raccoon dog) is also a symbol of the local pottery industry; Shigaraki Tanuki are not only representative of Shigaraki ware but have also become symbols of good fortune and business prosperity in Japan.

All photos are taken in natural light, and I do my best to capture the object from various angles. However, slight color differences and subjective variations may occur due to differences in computer monitors or mobile phone brands and settings. Before purchasing, please take a moment to look at the photos, use a ruler to assist your perception, and if it feels right, you can place your order :)
As my capacity is very limited, I cannot accept returns or exchanges based on the reason that the product does not meet expectations. Finally, pottery firing involves many variables, and sometimes small air bubbles that do not affect usability may occur. If any are found, they are considered normal. I will do my utmost to avoid these variables during the creation process. I look forward to your feedback upon receiving the pottery. See you next time.

- When we speak of "watching," the subject is often ourselves. We observe our reactions to events and the motivations behind them, the truth beneath our thoughts, and the discrepancy between what is expressed and what is felt. Watching is a constant presence, and it is profoundly important. If there is no destiny between us, we will not perceive each other's existence. If there is no thought of love between us, we will not rely on each other. The ability to watch is something to be grateful for.
