Burmese Daron Magic Beads - 111 Beads (Length 82 cm)

This string of 108 prayer beads consists of three components. 1. From a collapsed pagoda in Mandalay, there are 108 Daron magic beads with drilled holes. The largest average diameter is between 0.9-0.95 cm. These Daron magic beads, in the form of prayer beads, have been scrubbed to remove their oxidized patina. The copper alloy magic beads contain gold, though not in a high proportion. Cinnabar was added during their smelting. The bead bodies appear yellowish-bright when photographed, but will oxidize and darken over time if not maintained. Dating based on artifacts unearthed alongside the pagoda suggests they are from the 18th-19th century. These Daron magic beads, in the form of prayer beads, were typically placed in pagodas as strings of 108 beads… Due to the humid pagoda environment, the original string often oxidized and broke… 2. Three glossy black spacer beads. These are from a now-depleted mine, created by Luang Por Pramote's 2557 Lek Lai (Nikalai) prayer beads from Wat Thamma Khao Ruay in Thailand. 3. The guru bead section, hanging below. It is a spherical Daron magic bead formed by joining two geometric patterned Burmese copper alloy pagoda-shaped Daron magic beads, each with a base width of 2 cm. These artifacts have been strung together to form a 108-bead prayer necklace. The total length is 82 cm.
