He specializes in wood-fired ceramics and is renowned for his brand "Xuan Tea Ware." His work is dedicated to the handcrafted creation of tea ware, flower vases, and incense holders.
Creative Style and Philosophy
Chen Xuan-Heng's pieces emphasize the natural flow of hand-feel and brushstrokes, adorned with diverse textures. During the wood-firing process, the ash layers create rich variations, showcasing a blend of natural and humanistic beauty. His "Sea Rhyme Series" tea bowls are inspired by ocean waves, presenting layered movement reminiscent of the sea.
Beyond his ceramic creations, Chen Xuan-Heng is passionate about self-learning and playing the traditional Okinawan instrument, the "Sanshin." He frequently shares videos of himself playing and singing on social media, demonstrating his love for Okinawan music.
