I carried it with me when I went out, and the subtle aroma of Palo Santo brought me a sense of peace. My daughter often played with my mala, loving its scent. One day, I used extra Palo Santo beads to weave a bracelet for her. The legend of Yue Lao, the old man under the moon who oversees marriages, first appears in the Tang Dynasty tale "A Record of the Strange and Unexplained: The Marriage Shop" by Li Fuyan. After receiving a red thread from Yue Lao, my husband and I found solace and companionship for 16 years. This memory inspired me to arrange a special trip to Taipei with my daughter. We brought my materials and visited the Taipei Xia Hai Cheng Huang Temple for a blessing ceremony, passing them through the incense burner.
