Kalimantan Agarwood | Top-Tier Xingzhou Region ・ Rich and Refreshing Aroma
Among the Xingzhou agarwood production areas, Kalimantan agarwood has long been recognized as a benchmark for high-quality agarwood. Located on Indonesian Borneo, a vast island approximately fifteen times the size of Taiwan, Kalimantan has a relatively sparse population density. This allows for the preservation of extensive primary rainforests, creating a crucial environment for the growth and resinous formation of natural agarwood trees.
In recent years, due to over-harvesting of agarwood resources, the yield of natural Kalimantan agarwood has rapidly declined. Agarwood that forms with high oil content and potent aroma has become exceptionally rare. High-quality Kalimantan agarwood circulating in the market today is often encountered by chance and holds significant collection value.
The aroma of Kalimantan agarwood is known for its steady richness. Initially, it carries a distinct woody scent, which then unfolds into a natural coolness, intertwined with notes of frankincense. Some older pieces may even reveal a gentle sweetness reminiscent of flowers and fruits. The overall aroma is layered, warm, and full-bodied, never becoming tiresome even with prolonged exposure, making it highly favored by agarwood connoisseurs and enthusiasts.
Currently, Kalimantan agarwood aged over thirty years is even more prized for its rarity. Such agarwood was often preserved by previous generations of collectors and has mellowed with time, resulting in a more mature and stable fragrance. Its availability on online platforms allows discerning collectors to browse and purchase with confidence, offering immense value whether for daily appreciation or long-term collection.

Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood's background is in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art breathed warm and profound life into ancient alleyways. These objects, like fragments of time, carry the traces of history and the contours of the future, seeking a delicate balance between opposition and harmony to transform into refined works that closely connect the vision of a new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once ground into powder for inhalation, is in Japan solemnly placed in the prime location of the home, symbolizing vitality and light.
The agarwood originates directly from its source, pure and unblemished, free from artificial treatments like glue boiling, staining, or essential oils. It is presented in its most primal form, utilizing ancient techniques to meticulously hand-peel the outer layer of the deadwood, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also subtly intertwines tradition and modern craftsmanship at the fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and the senses. Its rich aroma, like the condensation of time, gently pulls together memories of the past and aspirations for the future, allowing them to meet and resonate within the fragrance, continuously extending, distant, and profound.
