In late 2024, just before a scheduled business trip to Korea, a sudden curfew was announced, only to be lifted just before our flight. After safely arriving in Korea, we found ourselves unexpectedly trapped on a subway car as a protest crowd surged in. We were pushed to the point of breathlessness, unable to move, almost floating. We kept wondering what would happen. Would it turn into a stampede? We encouraged each other to stay calm, find ways to breathe, keep our heads up, and most importantly, stand firm to avoid falling. Fortunately, after a few stops, the dense crowd all disembarked at Yeouido Station, and tears of shock streamed down our faces. A few stops later, we exited the subway and stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and serene postures instantly calmed the tempestuous waves we had just experienced. We, who were disoriented and frightened, felt as if we had found solid ground again. We truly felt, from the bottom of our hearts, how wonderful it is to have cats in this world. Hyejin's cat creations are such treasures. There's a sense of conflict and harmony, a perfect fusion of tradition and modernity. By incorporating contemporary artistic styles and characters, she depicts the lives and thoughts of animals within traditional art forms. She employs techniques like *Gongbi* (meticulous brushwork) and uses Korean paper, which is less commonly seen in the market.
