Concept At Shimogamo Shrine, the artist once created and exhibited a 3-meter-tall sculpture inspired by the arm of Susanoo. In that work, a real shimenawa was wrapped around the wrist, with paper shide streamers hanging down. This accessory was born from the desire to “recreate that sculpture on one’s own arm.” "A god dwells within my arm." "A god resides in the things my hands create." The design embodies this pride and prayer. Features & Design The core model “Tai” has evolved into the 2026 version. By carving the rope texture in detail, the new model expresses a more natural and three-dimensional feel of the shimenawa compared to the previous version. The shide has been enlarged by about 10%, enhancing its solemn presence. An engraved artist’s signature has been added to the back, further elevating its value as an art piece.
