Built in 1926, the former residence of Lin Tong-Si is a single-entry three-courtyard house of both the Chinese and Western architectural styles containing seven wide open spaces to demonstrate the greatness of the Lin family. The gate of the courtyard is decorated in Victorian style, columns carved with birds and flowers, and roof accented with 360 colorful tiles. It is a beautiful rarely seen building. The tile pattern found in this building depicts the garden cosmos flowers, elegant and pure, like the heart of a noble girl. It conveys first love, freedom, and pure hope.
