This strong leather, with its finely dense fibers tanned in pit vats, is meticulously hand-waxed by artisans for over 10 weeks. Beeswax and vegetable oils are repeatedly applied and infused, resulting in a durable and water-repellent material. The white powder on the leather's surface is called "bloom," which is the solidified wax that has seeped out, serving as a hallmark of bridle leather. *The appearance of bloom may vary between products. [Interior Leather] The interior is luxuriously crafted from "Texas," an oiled nubuck leather made using the "Bavetta" method by Tempesti, a renowned Italian tannery located in Santa Croce, the birthplace of vegetable tanning. Unlike suede, which has a napped finish on the flesh side, nubuck is processed on the grain side (the outer surface) of the leather, making it durable and smooth to the touch.
