This is an SDGs jewelry piece featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from Arita ware.
Broken or chipped ceramic items that are no longer usable are upcycled and reborn as accessories with the Kintsugi technique.
The concept behind this work is to bring the essence of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future, thereby creating new possibilities.
These are elegant and impactful ceramic fragments adorned with floral, Japanese, or other patterns.
Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the fragments, allowing the gold to beautifully catch the light from the side and exude an air of refinement.
These pieces are perfect as a statement accent for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: Ceramic fragment: 17mm x 24mm
Weight: Despite being ceramic fragments, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear ◎
As each accessory is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece, it makes an ideal gift.
They are also perfect as a gift for someone special.
*The item pictured will be sent. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size compared to the ceramic fragments and natural stones in the photo.
* "Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that mends broken or chipped pottery and porcelain using lacquer and gold powder. This work is created using a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique, which means adhesive is used for the actual bonding, unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses raw lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree.
Urushi (a lacquer paint made by a manufacturer, not raw urushi) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder) are used for the Kintsugi parts, with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
