"Reiwa" originates from a poem about plum blossoms in the Manyoshu.
To celebrate the new era name, we have prepared works featuring the "Reiwa" plum motif.
Let's enjoy our lives with stylish plum goods in the new era.
<A beauty that brings you happiness, one of a kind in the world>
The material for this piece is kimono fabric with auspicious patterns, carefully selected from thousands of pieces that have been stored away. Each item is meticulously handcrafted with the wish for the happiness of the person who holds it.
<Premium Series>
We envision a natural and elegant woman who behaves gently and gracefully, yet conveys a sense of refined composure. We have chosen vibrant antique kimono fabrics that will straighten your posture the moment you wear them. This piece exudes a subtle sense of luxury within its sophisticated presence. It will be delivered with a chic black backing to accentuate the vivid colors.
<Japanese Gifts>
We utilize kimono fabrics stored away in drawers, adhering to the local tradition of elderly women in Watari Town, Miyagi Prefecture, who say, "Do not discard cloth that can wrap three adzuki beans." We create products that give form to the beauty and loveliness residing in small pieces of fabric. These are also well-received as gifts for small tokens of appreciation or greetings.
<A charming accent for your hairstyle>
These hair accessories blend seamlessly with any outfit, not just kimonos and yukatas. They allow the wearer to express their individuality.
<A symbol of good fortune: Auspicious patterns>
These are auspicious patterns used as "symbols of good fortune," and understanding the meanings of Japanese patterns connects us to the profound depths of Japanese culture inherited from ancient times.
<Plum Motif> "Prayer for passing exams," "Academic success," "Prayer for safe childbirth."
It is believed that Tenjin-sama, the god of learning, resides within the pit of the plum, and it has been treated similarly.
<The joy of gazing and collecting>
The kimono fabric with its auspicious patterns that delight the eyes is an item that brings an image of happiness just by looking at it. By collecting your favorite pieces, you can enjoy creating your own personal gallery.

<Let's contribute to clothing upcycling together>
WATALIS has collected and remade over 12 tons of old kimono fabric.
By purchasing our products, kimono fabrics that were sleeping in chests across the country find a new purpose. We operate with gratitude towards our customers who help us expand the cycle of upcycling.
We introduce our regional resource upcycling initiatives through a video.

<Notes on purchase>
*As all items are handmade, please understand that each piece is unique, with slight variations in size, shape, and pattern.
*In rare cases, when we obtain particularly well-preserved kimono fabric, we may create multiple items from the same fabric. Please understand that the pattern arrangement may differ slightly from the photo due to the fabric's cutting position.
*Please note that colors and textures may appear differently on screen than in real life. If you have any concerns, please contact us or refrain from purchasing.
*Most of the kimono fabrics used as materials are secondhand, and their materials are often unspecified. We thoroughly inspect and process the fabric, including washing, before remaking it. Please handle with care as some fabrics may fade or shrink when wet.
*As we also sell on other sites, please forgive us in case of a sell-out.
