Tokkuri

This tokkuri was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath. This tokkuri was made from local Taiwanese clay and then was wood-fired for 4 days. Wood firing is very unpredictable as the wood ash settles on the pot in random ways. The beauty of this firing is that your pots will be original and unique, not able to be reproduced. No glaze was applied to this piece. My seal is stamped at the base of the pot near the trimmed foot ring. I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life.
