Fired in a reduced atmosphere, the Shino glaze reveals a beautifully natural flow of color. The white glaze is adorned with delicate crackling, resembling the fine, gentle frost of winter. The base of the cup, marked by the interplay of fire traces, iron powder, and ash deposits, forms caramel-colored textures reminiscent of mountain fault lines. Shino glaze is not achieved in a single attempt. Each instance of glaze crawling, each variation in glaze depth, is the result of the designer's numerous trials, repeated firings, leading to this near-perfect, natural, and irreplicable appearance. Important Notes: 1. Photos are unedited and uncolored, presented to show the most original hues. Slight color variations may occur due to different displays; the actual product is the standard. 2. All dimensions are measured by hand and may have slight discrepancies. 3. To minimize the chance of deformation in wood-fired pieces, they are first bisque-fired before undergoing wood firing.
