The Story Behind Our Zisha Teapots:
Zisha teapots are steeped in a long history and have been cherished by scholars and connoisseurs for centuries. Their unique creation process, distinct from other ceramics, imbues each teapot with its own character.
Furthermore, the unglazed nature of Zisha teapots transforms the process of "nurturing" them into an engaging ritual. This interaction, where the teapot becomes more beautiful with use, is arguably the primary reason for its enduring appeal.
Recently, influenced by various factors, a trend of tea appreciation has emerged among young people in Taiwan. Owning a Zisha teapot of excellent clay and craftsmanship has become a cherished aspiration for many consumers.
However, the Zisha teapot market has long been plagued by opaque product information and even counterfeit goods, often deterring consumers from making a purchase.
Our studio, now approaching its second year, has frequently engaged with our regular customers. They too have expressed confusion over the chaotic Zisha market and hoped that our expertise in ceramics could help them select high-quality, practical Zisha teapots.
We are deeply grateful for your long-standing support and trust. Yet, as the saying goes, "different trades have different specializations." While Zisha teapots are indeed ceramics, they are not our primary area of expertise. Consequently, we had not directly addressed such inquiries. However, this spurred our interest in learning more about Zisha teapots.
Fortunately, through various channels, we connected with a friend who deals in Zisha teapots locally in Yixing. After half a year of communication and learning, we found common ground in our principles. Before collaborating, we personally acquired and used several teapots to ensure they met our standards for craftsmanship and materials. Only those that align with our criteria are then recommended to you.
Our Zisha teapots are sold based on four principles:
1. Crafted using traditional Zisha teapot techniques.
2. Using raw materials free from chemical additives.
3. Accurately representing the clay type.
4. Truthfully stating the artisan's title.
Each Zisha teapot is accompanied by a magnified image of the clay at 200x magnification, allowing customers to clearly observe the true appearance and texture of the Zisha. It is only through such rigorous self-inspection that we gain the confidence to offer these products to you. If you require the original high-resolution microscopic image, please feel free to message us after your purchase!
→ Purchase Notes
* Most products in this design hall are purely handmade, and the glaze or ash deposit on each piece will vary. This is part of the charm of ceramic art. Therefore, once a piece is sold out, it will not be restocked, and an identical piece cannot be found. If a piece you like is purchased by someone else, we regret that you will need to choose another item from our design hall. We apologize for any inconvenience. Alternatively, you may contact the designer to see if a similar piece is available.
* Capacity is measured by hand and may have slight discrepancies.
* Works may exhibit some marks from the crafting process, as they are handmade or semi-handmade. Some operational traces are to be expected.
* During the firing process, natural distribution of kiln ash may occur, which is entirely normal. This is what Natural Glaze emphasizes – the inherent naturalness of ceramics. If you have any questions about the product, please message us.
* Product images are taken in a studio with adjusted lighting and environment, but no post-production editing is used. Please refer to the actual product for color accuracy, as variations will not be considered defects.
