We have long been influenced by flat maps and have an incorrect impression of the outlines of countries. As we talked about it, we looked at ourselves as "small"; but in fact, Taiwan is not small, and the "big" countries we often think of are not really that big. When we watch international news, we are often influenced by the "imagined size" and inevitably belittle ourselves and magnify others; therefore, Mitel has created a new educational product - "Small Island Large Area Let's Map!", through comparison and interaction with proportional cards, to break our myths about the size of countries and understand the world from a new perspective. **The earth is round, but the map is flat. The size of a country is not what you see! ?** Most maps are transformed from 3D curved surfaces into 2D planes through different projection methods. Among them, the Mercator projection method, which was born in the Age of Navigation and pursues clear directions, is currently the most common one. The Mercator projection method projects the most accurate area outline near the equator, but the higher the latitude, the easier it is to produce errors or deformations; if you have the opportunity to carefully compare the globe with the flat map, you will find that the area of Greenland is not that large, the actual area of Canada and the United States is similar, the land area of Russia is less than twice that of China, and Taiwan is not as small as we think! In the process of collecting international information, the Observation Calendar team discovered that we have long been influenced by flat maps and have an incorrect impression of the outlines of countries. Therefore, we launched the "Small Island, Large Area" special project and invited Wizard Geography to serve as a consultant. The one whose land area figure is closest to the designated country will score points. **#Country outline puzzle** Choose a country card/drawing as the base, and participants use the cards in their hands to piece together the combination, trying to squeeze in the most country picture cards without overlapping the outlines to get points. **#Guess the national flag capital** The host covers the country card with a mask, and asks participants to guess through the outline: is it the country name, the flag, or the capital?
