This piece is a teacup made on a potter's wheel using Shigaraki clay, with plum blossoms carefully painted on it using liquid rubber. After removing the liquid rubber, a top glaze is applied and the piece is finished by repeated firing. Because coarse clay is used, many black spots can be seen on the surface of the piece. This is because the iron contained in the clay oxidizes when fired in the kiln, resulting in black spots appearing on the surface.

This teacup is easy to hold and has a smooth mouthfeel. It is easy to clean and perfect for everyday use.
