Remade Obi Smartphone Pochette: Shippo Hanabishi and Kigyo Patterns

This smartphone pochette was made by remaking an obi from my kimono. Traditional patterns such as Shippo Hanabishi (Seven Treasures floral arabesque), Seigaiha (waves), Futae Kigyo (double hexagonal pattern), and Bishamon Kigyo (Bishamon hexagonal pattern) are collaged together. Silver threads are used in the embroidery, making it very dazzling. For the cord, I chose a white obijime with silver threads woven in, giving it a clean and elegant feel. Since a single obijime is used, both ends are finished with tassels. To enhance the gorgeousness of the obi, I chose a subdued pink satin fabric for the lining. It has a smooth texture, so I think smartphones can be easily put in and taken out. It is made to fit most smartphones, but if your smartphone case is large, it may not fit in the pochette, so please check the dimensions carefully before purchasing. After unraveling the obi, I have steamed it to remove most of the odor. However, since it is an obi that has been stored in a dresser for many years, a slight odor, like a mixture of camphor and moth repellent, may remain. *The obi used is not new, so some fading, sun damage, small stains, or creases that cannot be removed by ironing may be unavoidable. I use the cleanest parts possible with great care, but since the obi is not something that directly touches the skin, if you are concerned about the "remade" aspect, please refrain from purchasing to avoid any trouble.
