If you have any questions, please message before placing an order. All sales are final.
Many who have never purchased pre-owned items before are drawn into the Celine world by their iconic monogram or distinctive hardware. Celine truly offers a wide selection.
Among so many brands, Celine can be considered a master of hardware. In its earlier eras, the brand's buckle designs were incredibly diverse and creatively explored to their fullest. Even now, new and unseen buckle styles occasionally surface in the pre-owned market, offering delightful surprises!
This particular bag shape is likely familiar even to those new to pre-owned luxury. Celine has recently reissued similar designs with their new monogram, which has led to a steady increase in the value of vintage, similar styles. It's uncertain if I'll be able to acquire more once these are sold (unless you're willing to pay a premium)...
The half-moon silhouette is flattering on both taller and petite individuals, and its size offers practical capacity – not too large, not too small. I've personally tested it and found it can comfortably fit a phone (even larger models), a long, medium, or short wallet, a cardholder, tissues, and hand sanitizer. It boasts a surprisingly friendly capacity, accommodating most everyday essentials. It might not look like it can hold so much, but it truly does! It's no wonder it's so popular.
The half-moon shape is very slimming, and many contemporary new designs feature this silhouette. It's incredibly versatile and easy to style! The color is also very easy to match with outfits. For a simple autumn or winter look, pair it with a coat and slim trousers or a sweater dress for effortless elegance. In spring or summer, a small tank top with jeans or wide-leg pants creates a casual vibe!
In recent years, monogram patterns have been prominent in the fashion world, with almost every brand releasing their own interpretation due to its timeless appeal. You've likely heard or seen that trends are cyclical. Take a moment to reflect: during the early 2000s, monograms were considered somewhat dated (I even disliked them back then...), but look at us now – you, me, and even young girls are embracing them! Classics truly stand the test of time, so let's cherish and use our vintage bags with care; they can certainly accompany us through many cycles.
There's a "common saying" that everyone who buys pre-owned bags must have a Celine in their collection, as their vintage styles are so numerous and less likely to be duplicated. (I believe new models simply cannot compare to vintage ones in terms of craftsmanship and material quality; you can easily find complaints online about the declining quality of new items from major brands...)

⚐⚑˒˒ The bag is in beautiful pre-owned condition, the best I've seen for this brown monogram style I've sold. It has very minimal flaws. The front and back of the bag show no obvious scratches, scuffs, or stains. The monogram coating is intact, with no signs of fading or discoloration. The leather on the bottom, edges, and corners has a lovely honey-like tone, not too dark, but a sweet, warm brown with a hint of orange! Upon close inspection, the edges show slight signs of use but no significant wear, scratches, indentations, stains, or discoloration. There is no peeling. There are three hairline cracks on the bottom; they are very neat, suggesting they may have occurred accidentally in Japan. The leather edges are smooth with a natural sheen. The two gold-tone buttons on the sides are each engraved with the Celine logo and are exceptionally golden, with no signs of oxidation, discoloration, or gold loss. The strap also has a honey-like brown hue with a hint of orange, and the entire strap is free of stains. The buckle for adjusting the strap is brilliantly golden and engraved with "CELINE." The length is adjustable (holes can be added upon request). The interior leather lining has no stains, no peeling, no powdering, or delamination; it is very clean. The zipper on the inner compartment operates smoothly. It includes the leather tag. The decorative hardware on the front is engraved with "celine" and is exceptionally golden! The condition is stunning. It comes with its original dust bag!
Overall, the condition is very new and clean. The most significant flaw is the three cracks on the bottom; otherwise, the entire bag is exceptionally new and beautiful! This saddlebag has excellent capacity, and it's rare to find one in such pristine condition, especially at a favorable price due to the current low yen exchange rate. These bags sell out quickly every time, and it takes a long time to acquire them again because the saddlebag style is highly sought after in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan!
Honestly, good quality items are becoming increasingly scarce. For this specific saddlebag, my last acquisition was almost a year ago. While there were items available during that year, their condition wasn't as good, and they weren't cheap. So, this one has been a long wait...

My primary reason for loving pre-owned bags is that the materials from earlier eras are vastly superior to those used in modern new items. In the past, most pre-owned items were handmade, reflecting the warmth of craftsmanship before mass production. Artisans' skills were far more delicate than machines. Just as everyone appreciates products made by skilled artisans! However, today, the vast majority of processes are automated with minimal human assembly, losing the meticulous detail of the past.
The simplest and most direct way to see this is by comparing the detailed quality of the old monograms with the new monogram replicas from recent years; the level of detail is entirely different. If you love monograms, you must seek out pre-owned items! Truly!
In terms of style, older designs were simpler, more timeless, and enduring. Many current new designs are actually replicas of older styles. However, new models are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. New designs are typically based on older styles with added details or modifications, resulting in a final product that is often more complex (or peculiar......) than the original. As we grow older, we realize that simplicity endures! As we age, our clothing choices often return to basic styles because the most fundamental pieces are the most versatile.
The quality of materials in older items is also superior to newer ones. Anyone knowledgeable about leather can tell that the materials used in new items are generally inferior to those in vintage pieces. This is mainly because the cost of high-quality raw materials is too high today, and their availability is limited, with Earth's resources dwindling! Furthermore, brands didn't have the ubiquitous presence they do now, with stores everywhere. Their clientele typically had a certain income level and high expectations for the finished product. There was no "fast fashion culture" back then; a bag was expected to be used for many years.
The difference between new and old eras is clearly visible in the hardware. Many new items' hardware oxidizes and discolors after just one or two years, but vintage pieces rarely do. Besides the use of premium materials and meticulous techniques, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with real K gold! It's worth noting that Chanel Vintage is expensive for a reason; many of its buckle and chain components contain real gold, certified by gold merchants! Therefore, even vintage bags from the 60s and 70s, if well-preserved, can still have gleaming hardware today. As for new items available now, to my knowledge, none of the brands I'm familiar with use K gold in their hardware, making them prone to oxidation.
Many say that buying vintage bags is a form of alternative investment, as they rarely depreciate and often appreciate in value. This is because the number of pre-owned bags in good condition in the market is steadily decreasing; each one is a unique, discontinued item. The number of existing pieces is finite, meaning they will become rarer, more expensive, and harder to find. Additionally, many brands increase their prices periodically, which in turn drives up the prices in the pre-owned market. If a brand releases a "reissue," vintage reference or similar styles will see a sharp price increase! Moreover, with the recent trend of celebrities in Japan and Korea using vintage items, the price of a style can skyrocket once an artist is seen with it – prices can multiply as many people frantically search for that specific item or a similar alternative! So, vintage is truly about enjoying it early; buying later means paying more (this isn't an advertising slogan... it's a truth in the pre-owned world...). This is my personal experience; I regret not getting into many collections earlier... I can't find them now, and even if I do, the price is astronomical... But even knowing it's astronomical, you're compelled to buy because waiting will only mean a higher price (unless the condition is poor).
I'm often asked about bag maintenance (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I'll include a small note with details inside the bag, so don't worry. My personal habit is to take them out for maintenance when I organize my closet at the change of seasons (which makes it a big task each time...|||). Pre-owned bags aren't that troublesome; for beginners, it's simply about getting used to regular maintenance and cherishing the bag. Once it becomes a habit, it's not difficult. Pre-owned bags are made of excellent materials; as long as they aren't used roughly and are stored properly, they can easily last another ten years to be passed down to your daughter! Every pre-owned bag is one I collected because I love it, so I hope you will love it too and preserve it for the future ☪︎ *.。
