I once wanted to be a hippie, probably because I longed for the freedom they seemed to have. I love nature. Although I was born in Lukang, I grew up as a child in the city of Taipei. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love Taipei—I still love this city that helped me grow. Sometimes I’m not sure if I am creating, or if the act of creating is helping me understand myself better. Aman No.113 evokes a pure feeling in my heart. The natural cotton-linen fabric represents the part of me that loves nature, while the faintly visible mesh symbolizes the slightly rebellious side of me that has long been hidden away. The wavy lines are memories of an afternoon I spent sitting on the beach last week. I haven’t decided on a name for this piece of clothing yet—it might never have one, because I no longer envy the hippies.
