Vegetable-tanned leather, as the name suggests, is leather tanned using **plant-based tannins**. It's a general term for leather that is preserved using the natural tannins found in plants. This is the **oldest and most primitive method of leather tanning**. The characteristic of this type of leather is its initial **light, skin-like color**. However, through sun exposure, the passage of time, contact with air, and water, it gradually deepens from light to a caramel hue or even darker. This aging process makes your leather item more beautiful and lustrous with use. Our chosen leather undergoes **no surface treatment**. Just like human skin, cattle in their natural growth develop **natural grain patterns and occasional marks**. Surface treatment is akin to applying makeup, hiding all imperfections. Therefore, leather with a **poor surface condition typically requires surface treatment**. Therefore, **no special maintenance oil is typically required**. Moreover, human skin naturally secretes oils, so **frequently using your leather item is the best form of care**. If it gets wet, simply **air dry it in the shade**. If frequent water exposure causes the leather to become dry, you may apply a thin layer of leather conditioner. **Do not use lotions or petroleum jelly**, as these can clog the leather's pores and potentially damage the item. For everyday storage, keep your leather items in a cool, ventilated place to prevent excessive humidity and mold. If mold appears, gently wipe off the surface mold with a dry cloth.
