<A unique beauty that brings you happiness>
In the past, when people living in Watari, Miyagi Prefecture, gave gifts, they would place them in a "bag" made from leftover scraps of old kimonos. For example, it might have been a 1.8-liter bottle of rice given as a celebration or a return gift. There was no set name, and "fukuro" (bag) was slurred into "fuguro."
"FUGURO" is a remake that recreates this traditional custom. The material is kimono fabric with auspicious patterns, carefully selected from thousands of pieces sleeping in wardrobes. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, with a wish for the happiness of the person who receives it sewn in.
We deliver a unique beauty that brings you happiness, embodying the elegant custom of wrapping and gifting precious items and sewing gratitude into our products.
We use two colors of thread, matched to the colors of the outer and inner fabrics. Please enjoy the beautiful stitching that is pleasing to the eye.
<A symbol of happiness: Auspicious patterns>
Auspicious patterns, which are considered good omens and symbols of happiness, offer a glimpse into the profound depths of Japanese culture inherited from ancient times.
<Fan pattern> "Success in life," "Improvement of skills"
The fan, with its spreading shape symbolizing good fortune, is also called "suehiro" (spreading prosperity) and is a familiar auspicious pattern.
<Kanoko pattern> "Prosperity of descendants"
The "Kinchaku bag" is an auspicious item that attracts wealth.
The "Kinchaku bag" has been used as a coin purse and valuables pouch since ancient times. It is also used in the seven decorations of Sendai's Tanabata festival. Because the drawstring, when tied securely, prevents money from escaping once it enters, it is considered a symbol of "saving," "thrift," and "wealth and honor."
<Japanese Gifts>
As the material is kimono fabric, a symbol of Japanese culture, these items are perfect as souvenirs to take overseas or as gifts for foreign visitors. They are compact and easy to carry. An explanatory leaflet with both Japanese and English text is included.
* The FUGURO (in a paulownia wood box) was selected as a commemorative gift when the Governor of Miyagi Prefecture visited overseas.
It was presented by the Governor of Miyagi Prefecture during a courtesy visit to President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei on August 23, 2016, held in conjunction with the "Taiwan-Japan Northeast Exchange Meeting."
<Various Uses>
Use it as a bag-in-bag, a small pouch for keys or supplements. Fill it with snacks for your office refresh time. Decorate your living room. Thinking about how to use it is also a delightful moment. It can be used for various purposes depending on the user's ideas. It can also be used as a reversible item.
<The joy of gazing, the pleasure of collecting>
The kimono fabric with its auspicious patterns is an item that brings images of happiness just by looking at it. By collecting your favorite pieces, you can enjoy creating your own personal gallery.

<Notes on Purchase>
* As all items are handmade, please understand that each piece is unique and may vary slightly in size, shape, and pattern.
* In rare cases where we obtain kimono fabric in excellent condition, we may produce multiple items from the same fabric. Please note that the pattern placement may differ slightly from the photo due to the cutting position of the fabric.
* Please understand that the color and texture may appear different from the actual product due to screen settings. If you have any concerns, please contact us or refrain from purchasing.
* As the kimono fabric used as material is often second-hand and its composition is not always specified, we often cannot identify the exact material. We thoroughly inspect and process the fabric (including washing) before remaking it. Please handle with care, as some fabrics may fade or shrink when wet.
* As we also sell on other sites, please forgive us if the item is out of stock.
