Kiriko glass made by independent Kiriko glass artist Saito Hikaru.
We learned the secret techniques of hand polishing at an Edo Kiriko workshop that was founded over 100 years ago, and even though we consider the productivity and profitability of the technique low, we value the tradition and want to deliver authentic Kiriko to our users, so we also value the technique of hand polishing.

Since there were no designs that featured the traditional hexagonal basket weave pattern as the main feature, we began creating one.
Hexagonal basket weave is a type of bamboo basket weaving, and is a traditional pattern that has been used in Japan for a long time, in addition to Kiriko.
It is said to have the power to ward off evil and amplify one's strength, so it may be a good gift for someone who wants to overcome the future with power.
I wanted to show off the hexagonal basket weave, so I designed it so that the eye would naturally be drawn to the hexagonal basket weave by making the top and bottom clear.
In addition, flat openwork is inserted into every fourth hexagon to create a sense of unity.
There are 12 hexagons in each row.
The second row has three hexagons in a row followed by a fourth flat openwork piece embedded into the hexagonal basket weave.
I felt that a design that simply used a hexagonal basket weave pattern on the upper half and carved the lower half flat would not be original enough, so I went for a design that other craftsmen would never try because the calculations would be too difficult.
The hexagonal basket weave pattern itself is actually a very difficult pattern.
If the cutting position is off by even just 1mm, the hexagon will collapse.
Since this is 1 mm, even a slight difference in the thickness of the cuts between the lines will cause the hexagon to collapse.
Therefore, there are very few Kiriko craftsmen who choose to use the traditional hexagonal basket weave pattern in their designs.
Although it looks simple, the beautiful hexagons are the result of precise calculations.
An Edo Kiriko craftsman who cannot do calculations would definitely not be able to create the hexagonal basket weave design, so it might be an interesting piece of trivia to remember.
The entire mouth is thinly carved to about 0.1 mm to make it transparent.
In the world of Kiriko artisans, this is a technique known as "muki."
It's only a matter of 0.1mm, so rest assured that it will have almost no effect on the durability of the mouth area.
We also understand that it is better for whiskey drinkers to have less color in the cut glass so that they can enjoy the color of the liquor.
I think the design is in line with your tastes.
We hope you will consider purchasing this product for yourself, as a gift, or to improve your store's brand image.
We also have the flat openwork chrysanthemum-connected rock glass, which I briefly introduced earlier, which is designed for whiskey, so please take a look.
