1. Wood-Leaf Butterfly Teacher Lin Ying-Ru's works primarily feature wood-leaf motifs on teapots, with butterflies appearing only rarely. This piece represents a deconstructed and reassembled design, requiring significant effort. Butterflies are more commonly found in her Blue Crystal series. Each piece is considered collectible, and a teapot featuring a butterfly is an exceptionally rare wood-fired creation. 2. Teapot Shape This teapot features a less common, flatter body shape, embodying an elegant and serene aesthetic with the master's unique lines and charm. 3. Ash Glaze Drip The accumulation and fusion of ash and natural ash glaze: One of the most distinctive features of wood firing is "ash drip." During the prolonged wood-firing process, the ash from burning wood is carried by the kiln's hot air currents and settles on the teapot's surface. When the kiln temperature exceeds 1200°C, this wood ash begins to melt, combining with the minerals in the clay body to form layers of "natural ash glaze" with varying depths. 4. Fire Kiss Marks Located in the path of the flame, the direct contact with fire results in higher temperatures compared to the surrounding areas. This localized high-temperature difference causes varying degrees of sintering on the clay surface of the piece, giving this teapot a rose-gold hue.
