Red Clay Teacup with Off-White Matte Glaze 1

This red clay offers a warm, earthy feel with a slightly rugged texture. After being shaped into a rounded teacup, it was finished with a light, off-white matte glaze and fired. While it’s a very simple teacup, its appeal lies in its charming, rounded form and the beautiful texture created by the interplay of clay and glaze. When cradled in both hands, the cup’s curves feel wonderfully familiar against your palms. Its off-white hue beautifully showcases the colors of transparent beverages like sencha green tea or black tea. Beyond drinks, it can serve as a vessel for small portions of soup at breakfast, or even for delightful treats like coffee jelly or pudding. We invite you to savor it with your preferred drink. All our pieces are handcrafted in our home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and potter's wheel. Every step, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, is done by hand. While we cannot produce in large quantities, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a special charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be identical to the one pictured. To ensure your table surfaces are protected, the base of the cup has been smoothed with sandpaper. We continuously explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of pottery in various colors and forms. Each piece is unique, appearing similar yet truly one-of-a-kind. We would be delighted if you find a piece that speaks to you. We hope you enjoy the beautiful interplay of clay and glaze as a touch of color in your daily life. ----- *Size and Weight* Diameter: 9.1cm Base diameter: 4.4cm Height: 6.3cm Weight: 213g ----- *Important Notes for Purchase and Use* - Due to the porous nature of pottery, it may absorb liquids, potentially leading to staining within crazing or water seepage. To prevent this, we treat all our tableware with a waterproof sealant before shipping, so no initial seasoning (meshime) is required. This sealing process takes 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have the sealant applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - The glaze's color appearance can vary depending on lighting. It may look whiter under natural morning light or white LED lights, and exhibit more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warmer ambient light. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - We strive to capture and edit product images to be as true to life as possible. However, please note that colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. - As our items are also sold on other platforms, in the rare event of overlapping purchases, the item will be allocated to the customer who completes the purchase first. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. - While you can use these in a microwave (for reheating only) and dishwasher, the vibrations from microwaves and high-pressure hot water sprays may accelerate wear. We recommend avoiding their use in these appliances if possible. - Please refrain from using these in an oven or over direct flame. - After use, please wash thoroughly and ensure the item is completely dry before storing it in your cupboard or elsewhere to prevent stains and mold.
